Master class annotation:
It just so happened that in recent decades, the term AI has been associated mostly with technology. The embodiment of this approach is the “power race” of modern deep neural network algorithms such as GPT-3, WuDao etc. At the same time, scientific advances in various fields of knowledge from linguistics to medicine are used by these technologies in part as starting points for building models. Can modern machine learning models, in particular deep neural networks, qualitatively enrich scientific knowledge while being themselves a poorly theorized scientific field?
